Moscow Protests. Feb 2021

Lots of rough and awful scenes on the streets of Moscow these past two weekends.

Hong Kong, August 2019/Feb 2020.

We made two trips to Hong Kong in five months, for the political protests and then as COVID began to spread around the world.

Kazakhstan, June 2019.

After 6 months in space, Canadian David St Jacques returned to earth in central Kazakhstan and we went to meet him. We flew from Moscow to Karaganda, and then drove and drove and drove across an endless plain until we got to the landing zone. Then, the next morning he dropped out of the sky.

Stalingrad, Winter 2018.

On the 75th anniversary of the end of the biggest, most destructive, and arguably most consequential battle of the Second World War, we visited the old battlefields in and around modern day Volgograd.

Syria, Idlib Province, Sept 2019.

We went to Syria with Russia’s military in Sept 2019, and toured Idlib, Damascus and areas around Latakia.

Volokolamsk Kremlin

About 129 km north east of Moscow is where one of the fiercest battles of WW2 took place as the Nazis made a final, unsuccessful push to Moscow. These towering stone figures mark the place and moment near Volokolamsk.
