There’s lot of discussion about travelling over the holiday break. We live in Russia. So returning home was something my family and I had to do.
A couple of observations about flying: Flight attendants told us some flights are completely empty (like our one of out Vancouver), while many flights to Sun Destinations such as Cancun and Costa Rica are completely full. While many Canadians object to the idea of their politicians heading to warmer climates for the break, clearly there are lots of opportunities to do so – and many people are choosing to do so.
The Air Canada and Lufthansa flight crews we dealt with were totally professional and gave us confidence that we likely NOT catch covid on the flight. More of an issue, though were the line ups to get on the aircraft and – in Russia anyway – getting off, where people do not respect social distancing. You don’t see young airline employees anymore. The average seniority of the crew on our Air Canada flights was 25 years domestically – 30 years internationally. Incredible.
